Spare time....I forget...

Image
I actually have time to kill right now... I mean...a few moments...and it's kinda weird...I'm at work...oh yeah...I started a new Job at www.cgi.com . It's great...challenging as hell..busy as hell...frustrating as hell at points..but it's great... so yeah...I'm at work...it's 8:04pm...I worked late night because I took some time off this afternoon...flexibility...and I'm waiting for a call from Elizabeth to let me know she's done of her Music Therapy presentation that she is giving right now.  She said she wasn't prepared but I'm sure I'll hear how awesome it went very soon. So yeah...I've been busy...it's amazing...I thought that by having a scheduled full time job during the day my evenings would be soooo free.... but we're busy living the family life..I get home from work and sometimes Elizabeth has places to go or I have students, or I  have to work late, or whatever and ...well it just feels busy all the time...I've bar

I've waited for over 20 years...

I became a hockey fan early in my life...probably around 4 or 5.  My dad was a hockey fan.  So I was one too. My first favourite team was the Philadephia Flyers.  Why?  Because they had a player name Darrell Sittler and even though he spelled his name wrong, it was my first connection to the NHL: that guy with the puck, scoring the goal, has the same name as me.  It was magic.  My dad, seeing my newfound love of hockey, helped me out by buying me hockey cards which I taped onto the back of record covers and then lined my walls with them.  How many rookie cards did I scotch tape to an album cover only to later have them torn and thrown out.  What would they be worth now?  More in sentiment because they were given to me by my father but still...they'd be worth a penny or two. He also bought me hockey pucks.  I had every hockey puck from every NHL team there was. I remember them proudly displayed on a shelf in my room.  I was 6.  All these years later I only have one puck left -

New CD with Stephanie Cadman

Unleashed In the fall of 2004, I was part of an awesome recording project with Stephanie Cadman. She recorded a 5 song EP titled "Unleashed" for which Mike Ross, Kirk White, and I recorded the rhythm section tracks. Over the past year she sold quite a few copies and she decided to record 5 more tracks, combine the two sets of tracks and release a full length CD of the same title. So this past fall of 2005 Mike, Kirk, and I drove out to Gordon Belsher's Guernsey Cove Parlour Productions recording studio and layed down the 2nd installment of tracks. It's celtic music. But it's different. Stephanie has all the makings of a great traditional fiddler and Mike, Kirk, and I infuse our brand of celtic rock, funk, groove music behind her. It's an exciting result and if you have Real Player you can hear for yourself. music.derylgallant.ca/index.asp?section=Recordings#Rec24

Hospital Tour

So tonight we had our hospital tour...I know it seems late as Elizabeth is due in 3 weeks but I missed the original tour in December because I was doing the Dinner Theatre... I'm so glad I went on the tour because...well...on the way to the hospital I realized....when we're in Labour...I have no idea where to drop Elizabeth off and where to park.  I realized I was faced with two choices...Emergency and the Front Door... Emergency seemed the obvious choice as "THIS IS AN EMERGENCY...THERE'S A SMALL HUMAN TRYING TO CLAW IT'S WAY OUT OF MY WIFE!!!" But...I learned I was wrong. Seems I have to drop Elizabeth off at the front door ( okay well I could park first and make her walk but I'm not that stupid ), get her to Labour and Delivery, go to admitting to make sure she's signed in alright, and then go park the car and then run back to Labour and Delivery. I mean COME ON...where the hell is the Labour and Delivery Valet Service...I know it's PEI but for

Hit rut because doors wouldn't fit back on because of new carpet...had to cut them...then couldn't find the pins...doh..bought new ones...all good... Basement: stripped old
